My old boss used to call me the master of reinvention. He was referring to my role in brand advertising. But the truth is, my real heart for reinvention has always been in transforming living spaces. I’ve done it many times as a layman: for myself, for friends, for family. And 3 years ago, I decided to leave my 30 year career as a Creative Director, and make my equally long love affair with home remodeling and design, something real. There is simply nothing as thrilling to me as working with clients on a home that is tired, or outdated, or simply forgotten, and together reimagining just how incredibly beautiful and yes, functional it can be. Be it a kitchen that needs a modern facelift, an exterior that needs a fresh coat of paint, an entire house that needs to be taken down to the studs or a restage for selling purposes, I am passionate and intuitive about helping clients visualize the possibilities for their home.
I was born in the UK, apprenticed at North Gloucestershire College of Technology and have been in construction for over 35 years in the States. My love of building really stems from two things: helping clients create their ideal space by overseeing every step of the project to assure complete satisfaction; and partnering with a network of trusted subcontractors I have personally known for years, including master carpenters, artisanal painters, all mechanicals, framers, drywall, and roofers to deliver the very best talent and expertise on your job. My roots are in trim carpentry, painting, and tiling. I think, having practiced and perfected those crafts for many years sets me apart from other general contractors, in my problem solving, my expectations, and my attention to detail.
My work has spanned Chicago, the far north shore and throughout SW Michigan and NW Indiana. I enjoy customer relations and believe that transparent communication is imperative. I am happy to call many of my clients, friends, and yes, I still have a very formidable British accent. Indeed.
